The Miranda Foundation is a nonprofit certified 501(c)3, private family foundation committed to
bridging
divides by supporting nonprofit organizations and projects which promote better understanding between people, communities and cultures, so as to create a just and equitable society.
The Miranda Foundation was born out of the values and
diverse life experiences of its founder, Lourdes R. Miranda,
an award - winning entrepreneur: Inc. Magazine, Ernst & Young
and Merrill Lynch Entrepreneur of the Year for the Washington
Regional Area; Hispanic Business Woman of the Year presented
by the President of the United States; Puerto Rico Chamber
of Commerce Outstanding Business Woman of the Year. The
former Spanish literature professor founded and led for
over twenty years an international company providing
technical and management support services to governmental
organizations. She was, and continues to be, actively
involved in community organizations, served as President
of the National Association of Women Business Owners,
a Director of Amnesty International USA, and many other
nonprofit organizations. She currently devotes much of
her time to philanthropy.
